Main Subject - Fault the Few - Blame the Many - A Video/Game Rental Observation
Outside of their recent ‘no late fee’, everyone's 'local' video store has initiated a few 'new policies'. I recently went to my local (albeit a nationwide conglomerate) video store t According to USFDA, a combination product is one composed of any combination of a drug and device; biological product and device; drug and biological product o get a game for my son. This is certainly not an unfamiliar occurrence as he has had a game console before he could walk. As usual, I walk up to the counter to provide my video renta ; or drug, device, and biological product and fixed dose combination would include two or more combinations of drug. Examples of combination products may in l card (although everyone behind the counter knows me) and lo' and behold I am told that they need a 'major' credit card on my file to rent the game. What?! As it turns out (and not s lude drug-coated devices, drugs packaged with delivery devices in medical kits, and drugs and devices packaged separately but intended to be used together. urprisingly) that this new policy is in place due to the fact that an undisclosed number of people are not returning their games (I always wondered what the insurance statistitions di here is enormous increase in the number of combination products entering the market in the recent years. Combination products have proven advantages but fixe d on their time off). From a business stand point I understand. From a consumer stand point I think that it should be based on individuals. How the rest of consumers interact with vid d dose combinations are still in the process of convincing regulatory authority on their advantages over the single ingredient formulations. Combination pro eo rentals is truly none of my concern. I have never kept a game or even a video and if I had, I would suspect that my account would be closed or significantly overcharged for the 'pu ucts have become life saving products for the pharmaceutical companies who doesn’t have many innovative molecules in their product pipeline and have been inc rchase'. This I can handle, if I mess up then charge me accordingly. But if a few (or even more) bad apples spoil the bushel, then why am I to be held responsible for them? Needless t easingly used in the product life cycle management. Even the companies having product patents are trying to extend their product life cycle through the combi say (with no uncertain amount of grumbling) I gave them my credit card to simply acquire a game. You would think that this would be the end of my rant. Unfortunately it doesn't stop nation products and maximize the revenues. But the companies involved in this practice are overlooking that they are burdening the patients both economically there. Last evening I went to my video/game rental behemoth to get another game title for my son (ok, it was for me also) and not paying close attention I inadvertently picked up an and physically. They need to rightly judge the benefits of the combination products and they have to even look at the risks involved when combining the produ X-box game NOT an X-box 360 game. What was I thinking? Only to get the game home and realize a return trip is in order. Thankfully, my son has reached the ever cherished moment in a y ts. Some of the combination products were well accepted by physicians while others suffered. Companies involved in development of combination products are fi oung man's life of having a driver’s license. I sent him on the journey to exchange the shortcomings of his father. Only to hear that when he gets back that my account has been 'dog-e ding difficulty in defining their combination products and facing various challenges from selecting a combination to marketing it. Following aspects would a ared' with a notation that we may be trying to scam them with free credit rentals. What?! Evidently, there are some additionally unscrupulous characters out there that will play a gam dd to the challenges in developing combination products: Which markets to tap where the combination products can do fairly well? Which combination prod e for 15-20 minutes only to return the game for an additional title so that they can play THAT game for 15-20 minutes and so on... and so on.... OK, I am far from perfect by any stre cts are meaningful and rational? Which therapeutic categories to select? Which Combinations can address unmet needs of the patients? Do combin tch of the imagination, but all you have to do is look at my account activity to realize that this a first occurrence and there is no level of abuse. But, nonetheless, my account has tions increase the patient compliance? What would be the developing cost? How to tackle the risks encountered during combination product developmen een tarnished. The worst part about this is how they made my son feel upon trying to exchange the item. I can only imagine the Cruella type looks he received from the degreed psycholo t? As combination products don't fit into the traditional categories of drugs, medical devices, or biological products, the USFDA is in the process of devel gist that is working part-time at a video store (must need gas money). This of course prompted a phone call and try as I might (even with the trump card of taking my business elsewher ping new procedures for reviewing their safety, efficacy and quality. Professional from academic institutions, pharmaceutical industries, health care indust e) all I received was a half-hearted attempt at an apology to me, my son and my account. That it really isn't against me, but due to the fact that they only made $588mil net income CY y and representatives from various regulatory agencies are working out to design the regulatory requirements for manufacture and sale of combination products 2005, they evidently feel they have been ripped off so many times that all of their customers have to carry the burden of responsibility. What's wrong with this picture? This is their . As there is an increasing trend of the combination products companies manufacturing such products should be able to tackle the problems involved in the de approach to customer service? Can’t take care of the deadbeats so treat ALL the customers as if they were. Begs the question... are gas prices that bad that phsycologists need to wo elopment. They need to be wiser in analyzing the market trends and the regulatory requirements. Companies that provide selfless information through particip rk there? Have a Customer Service Story to share?
